A rare 1970s SRO frame featuring a lightweight metal construction with an oversized geometric silhouette. The design is defined by its slim wire profile, softly squared lenses, and open lens-ready format, preserving the refined character of its original vintage production. Frame Model: LITE 111 (PY) Decade: 1970s Country of Origin: Japan Lenses: Original demo lenses, ready for custom Condition: Excellent vintage Measurements: 56-18-140 Historical Context SRO, short for Styl-Rite Optical, was an American eyewear maker associated with Flushing, New York, and is documented as producing optical frames by the early 1950s. The company became known primarily for quality optical frames, while its Sunmodes line extended its design language into sunglasses during the 1960s. SRO’s vintage frames reflect a distinctly American optical aesthetic, with sculpted acetate, keyhole bridges, decorative rivets, substantial hinges, and shapes ranging from rounded and rectangular forms to dramatic cat-eyes.
