The Courrèges C128 is a refined example of the brand’s 1980s approach to architectural eyewear, combining an oversized geometric silhouette with delicate metal construction. The softly squared lenses are framed by slim green-toned metal, while the angular temple details add a distinctive sculptural element. Original demo lenses remain fitted, preserving this deadstock frame in its original state and leaving it ready for custom lenses. Frame Model: C128 (JD) Decade: 1980s Country of Origin: Italy Lenses: Original demo lenses, ready for custom Condition: Deadstock Measurements: 57-13-135 Historical Context Courrèges was founded in Paris in 1961 by André Courrèges, whose futuristic vision helped define the Space Age aesthetic of the 1960s. Trained under Cristóbal Balenciaga, Courrèges became known for geometric silhouettes, stark white, vivid color, vinyl, and a youthful approach to modern dressing. Eyewear became a natural extension of this graphic design language. Vintage Courrèges frames are often recognizable by bold geometric shapes, oversized proportions, bright or translucent acetate, and the house’s distinctive interlocking AC logo. Particularly strong examples from the 1960s through the 1980s capture the optimistic, space-age futurism that made Courrèges one of the most influential names in modern French fashion.
