These Just Cavalli vintage sunglasses feature an oversized, softly squared silhouette with rounded corners and a distinctive sculptural metal frame. The deep amethyst lenses create a rich violet tone, complemented by the dark metallic finish of the rims and bridge. Intricate detailing around the outer corners and temples adds dimension to the design, giving the frame a bold, decorative character without overwhelming its fluid contours. Frame Model: JC399S (14Z) Decade: 2000s Country of Origin: Italy Lenses: New amethyst lenses Condition: Excellent vintage Measurements: 62-13-130 Historical Context Launched in 2000 by Italian designer Roberto Cavalli, Just Cavalli was created as a younger, more accessible line extending the house’s fashion identity into ready-to-wear and accessories, including eyewear. Its aesthetic developed around Cavalli’s characteristic use of animal motifs, bold colour, glamour, and a youthful rock-inspired attitude. Eyewear was part of the line from its launch, with Marcolin producing the sunglasses and optical frames. Just Cavalli frames incorporated expressive acetate and metal constructions, contemporary and retro-inspired silhouettes, animal prints, studs, and prominent JC logo detailing. Vintage Italian-made examples reflect the brand’s energetic approach to fashion, combining animal-inspired decoration and distinctive proportions with the experimental character of early-2000s Italian designer eyewear.
