This Cabine ornament is hand-painted and finished with an adjustable silk ribbon for hanging. Once the clay is cut and shaped, the piece is slowly dried to prevent warping, then sponged to refine the form. When dry, each piece spends 24 hours in the kiln for a bisque firing at 1800°F. After cooling and removal from the bisque fire, the pieces are gently hand-sanded and sponge-bathed. The art is approached in a painterly manner. Careful mark-making balances the playful intention behind each work of art. The base is hand-stamped. The piece is glazed and then fired in a glaze firing for another 24 hours at 2300°F. A third firing occurs after the application of the 22k gold bijoux detail. English porcelain clay.Silk ribbon. One of a kind, made and painted by Stephanie Perry in her studio.
