Historical Context Founded in Vicenza in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro, Bottega Veneta built its identity around Italian leather craftsmanship and a discreet approach to luxury. The introduction of the Intrecciato leather weave in 1975 became the house’s defining visual and tactile signature, reinforcing its philosophy of understated design without prominent logos. Bottega Veneta later expanded into accessories, including eyewear, with Safilo producing eyewear for the brand from the late 1980s onward.
